“There’s something about knowing that something is finite, that gives it value. If a rose lasted forever, if it never wilted after a few days, it would somehow feel less precious. In the same way, knowing that our time on earth is limited is what gives life its meaning. I feel the same way about shooting on celluloid film. Every frame matters because there are only so many of them. It asks you to be present, to look more carefully and to recognise that what you’re capturing won’t exist in quite the same way again.

I’m drawn to the moments that exist for only an instant; the glance between two people, the laughter that fades as quickly as it arrives, the silence after the tears. They happen once, and then they belong only to memory. Film honours that. It asks you to believe that a single frame is enough, and somehow, because it cannot last forever, it becomes timeless.”
